Not Jarvis, Morgan offers a lot more and has a point to prove having secured another contract.
Even though Valencia will not be fit to even put on his boots he will be on the bench. Pointless, but BFS would rather do this than put a youngster there.
O'Brien, even though we have better options he will be playing . A team with Nolan,O'Brien and Collins offers nothing positive just a defensive parking the bus and against Arsenal it's not going to be enough.

I am astounded and disappointed at the lack of use of Poyet. Hopefully the new manager will use him

Our last 13 matches against Arsenal have been 11 defeats and 2 draws.
This is our worst run against anyone. I'd hope there are no worse anyway.

I'm assuming that we will never see Poyet again and just need to accept it.

Would be happy with that and just to give them a game given the circumstances. At the moment we've taken at least a point off every team in the league that we have played twice bar Chelsea, a backs to the wall draw would keep that going and be an achievement given the injury situation. On the other hand if we're clearly going to lose with half an hour or so to go, I'd give Sam a lot of credit regardless if he decided to use it as an opportunity to give Oxford (is Burke still injured?) a run out. Would like to see Nene get a decent period on the pitch too. I guess he's the other option - 2 up front with Nene and Sakho, Downing behind - but as I say I'm not sure he's fit enough and it seems Sam agrees given how late he left bringing him on against Chelsea.

I actually reckon starting Oxford in a 5 at the back wouldn't be a bad option, better with Jenkinson though as JOB doesn't get forward as much obviously. I think starting him in a 4 would be cruel. With a 5 we could go back to the midfield diamond with Noble, Song, Nolan and Downing - I'd probably put Morgan in there rather than Noble but Sam wouldn't. I actually think Nolan has his place in games like this - and against Chelsea last week. In a siege mentality battle, which let's face it this will be, his leadership comes to the fore and his deficiencies with time on the ball aren't as damaging (because we don't have time on the ball anyway).

Arsenal haven't won 8 in a row at home in the league since they were at Highbury, so at least we'll be involved in some history today!
